Is there a reason why a majority of wild cats are orange?

It might be just in your area, there could be a mother cat who bred a whole bunch of orange kitties, and they kept multiplying from there. But I do notice around here we have a few orange wild cats, but not as many as yours... We have a variety, and a few happen to be black and white...
