What is a good guitar pickup for heavy rock?

I want a relatively high gain guitar pickup to install into a dean cadillac in the bridge pickup. I have no bias as far as company, but I need a pickup that sounds raw and thick. I've been looking into the dimebucker, but I don't think the bottom end is quite thick enough. I am not going to put an active in, so don't suggest that. What I am thinking of doing is put a prail in the neck, and maybe a gibson burstbucker in the bridge, but is this going to be thick enough to play metal? To clarify, the heaviest I want is something along the lines of system of a down, and I despise invader pickups.
