What is wrong with my spedometer?

I have a cadillac dts im telling yu because these cars are mostly electric,my problem is that,when I drive the arrow show me how fast I'm driving but the digital counter is not giving me the number of how fast I'm going,is my motor going please let me know before my car ends up breaking down !!!
